IWES has developed a number of programs in keeping with their mission, vision, and organizational goals. There are currently 4 programs implemented to serve the community and help in the mental and physical rebuilding efforts of the greater New Orleans area. These programs include…
- ➢ Collective for Healthy Communities (CHC)- A program that focuses on the development of mental health and wellness, especially for post-disaster related trauma and collective community well-being.
- ➢ Emotional Awareness, Resiliency Training and Healing (EARTH)- A community-based mental health program that promotes emotional resiliency among at-risk youth of color.
- ➢ Media Advocates for Prevention (MAP)- A youth-based intervention which focuses primarily on at-risk youth in the community using different forms of media to spread the message of HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.
- ➢ Social marketing Technology Outreach Program (STOP) - A youth-based program that utilizes social marketing principles and new media technology to advocate for the prevention of HIV/AIDS amongst African American & Latino youth ages 13-18 in the city of New Orleans.
- ➢ Sexual & Reproductive Health Advocacy Project (SRHAP)- A program that strives to protect and help preserve the sexual and reproductive rights of women and their families. The focus of this program is to research current policies and issues in our communities and to advocate for their rights.
