IWES is partnering with Linda Usdin and the Himalayan Society to host a conversation about building compassionate and resilient communities for our youth based on the tenets of the Dalai Lama in anticipation of his visit to New Orleans.
The conversation will focus on the following topics:
- Current world views of many young people in our community are often formed through experiences of violence and lack of caring
- What options are available to them when their experiences have been so destructive
- What can we do in our communities to support alternative world views built on compassion and connection
The event will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m at Dillard University Professional Schools and Sciences Building in Room 131-135 and is open to the public.
