MEDIA

Since our founding, we have incorporated media into all our work to bring to life the stories, experiences, and perspectives we represent. Storytelling is integral to our programs, even woven into our curricula, especially when discussing health prevention topics like healthy relationships and emotional well-being. Through film, podcasts, and other new media, we aim to create narrative change so that everyone around us can lead healthier lives. By having the power to evoke strong emotions, art can teach in an engaging and memorable way. As we produce media that is for and by the communities we work with, we elevate new voices, share diverse perspectives, and promote alternative ways of being, while always being grounded in a trauma-informed, whole-person lens.

True equity requires not only changes in our behaviors but also in our hearts and minds. We must internalize the belief that everyone deserves optimal health; otherwise, we will perpetuate systems that oppress those on the margins of society. Only by achieving this belief can we move forward supporting our community in a meaningful way.
